Privacy Policy

TutorPlan ("TutorPlan", "we", "our", or "us") operates the TutorPlan mobile application and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect information when you use TutorPlan.

By using TutorPlan, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. What TutorPlan Does

TutorPlan helps users organize lessons with students, track schedules, manage payment status, and monitor tutoring-related earnings and activity.

To provide these services, we may collect and process certain information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the app, and technical data necessary to operate and improve the service.

2. Information We Collect

A. Account Information

When you create an account or sign in, we may collect:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • account authentication identifiers;
  • the sign-in method you use, such as Google, Apple, or email.

If you sign in through Google or Apple, we may receive the information that those providers make available to us in accordance with your settings and their policies.

B. Lesson, Student, and Earnings Data

We may collect and store information that you enter into TutorPlan, including:

  • student names or nicknames;
  • subjects, lesson schedules, and lesson history;
  • rates, pricing, payment status, and earnings records;
  • lesson notes and related tutoring information;
  • reminders, planning data, and business activity records.

C. Synchronization Data

If synchronization between devices is enabled, your app data may be stored and processed on cloud infrastructure so that it can be accessed across your devices while you are signed into your account.

D. Usage and Device Information

We may collect limited technical and diagnostic information, such as:

  • device type;
  • operating system and app version;
  • language and region settings;
  • crash data, error logs, and diagnostics;
  • approximate usage information necessary to maintain, secure, and improve the app.

E. Subscription and Transaction Information

If you purchase a premium subscription, we may receive information related to your subscription status, plan type, renewal status, and transaction metadata from the platform or payment provider.

We do not necessarily receive or store your full payment card details, as payments may be processed directly by third-party platforms such as Apple App Store or Google Play.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may use your information to:

  • create and manage your account;
  • authenticate your login;
  • provide the core functionality of the app;
  • sync your data across devices;
  • store and display lesson schedules, student records, payments, and earnings data;
  • process and manage subscriptions and premium access;
  • improve app performance, stability, and security;
  • detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or technical issues;
  • communicate with you about service updates, support requests, and important notices;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Depending on your location and applicable law, we may process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • performance of a contract with you;
  • your consent;
  • our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving TutorPlan;
  • compliance with legal obligations.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information in the following circumstances:

A. Service Providers

We may share information with third-party service providers that help us operate the app, such as providers supporting authentication and login, cloud storage and synchronization, technical infrastructure and hosting, subscription management, customer support, security, and diagnostics.

These providers are permitted to use the information only as necessary to provide services to us or on our behalf.

B. App Stores and Payment Platforms

If you purchase a subscription, relevant transaction and subscription information may be processed by Apple, Google, or other platform/payment providers according to their own terms and privacy policies.

C. Legal Reasons

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to:

  • comply with a legal obligation;
  • protect our rights or property;
  • investigate fraud, abuse, or security issues;
  • protect the safety of users or others.

D. Business Transfers

If TutorPlan is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to:

  • provide the app and your account functionality;
  • maintain synchronization and records associated with your account;
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations;
  • resolve disputes and enforce agreements.

If you request deletion of your account, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize your data, unless we are required or permitted to retain certain information by law.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your device, account credentials, and access methods secure.

8. Your Responsibilities Regarding Student Data

Important: if you store student or parent information in TutorPlan, you are responsible for making sure you have the right to do so under the laws that apply to you.

If you use TutorPlan to store information relating to students, parents, clients, or minors, you are solely responsible for ensuring that your collection, entry, and use of that information complies with all applicable laws and obligations, including any consent, educational privacy, or child-data requirements that may apply in your jurisdiction.

TutorPlan does not independently verify whether you have the legal right to process such information.

9. Children’s Privacy

TutorPlan is intended primarily for tutors, teachers, and other adult users managing lesson-related activities. The app is not directed to children as primary users.

If you believe that personal information of a child has been provided to us in violation of applicable law, please contact us and we will review the request.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries outside the EEA, depending on where our service providers and infrastructure operate. In particular, we use Supabase (a US-based cloud service) to store and process account data.

Where such transfers occur and are subject to GDPR, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) adopted under Art. 46 GDPR, or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms. Our key processors maintain EU data transfer compliance documentation in their own privacy policies and data processing terms.

11. Your Privacy Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with applicable data protection law, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access (Art. 15 GDPR): the right to obtain confirmation of whether we process your personal data and to receive a copy of it.
  • Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): the right to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Erasure / Right to be forgotten (Art. 17 GDPR): the right to request deletion of your personal data. You may also delete your account directly via this page.
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR): the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and to transmit it to another controller, where processing is based on consent or contract and is carried out by automated means.
  • Objection (Art. 21 GDPR): the right to object to processing of your personal data where we rely on our legitimate interests as the legal basis.
  • Withdrawal of consent (Art. 7 GDPR): where processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77 GDPR): if you believe that our processing of your personal data infringes applicable data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your EU member state or country of residence. A list of EU supervisory authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu.

12. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling

TutorPlan does not use automated decision-making or profiling as defined in Article 22 of the GDPR that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning users. All core decisions about your account and data are made by you or by our team based on your requests.

13. Third-Party Links and Services

The app may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before using their services.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version in the app, on the relevant store listing, or on our website. Your continued use of TutorPlan after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the revised version.
